Overview

The Glamur 125 is Hero doing what Hero does best — taking the Splendor formula and re-trimming it around the way Indian families actually use a motorcycle. The seat is long and flat with a genuinely usable pillion panel, the footpeg set-back is mild enough that a passenger’s knees do not hit the rider’s, and the 10.6 Nm of torque means the bike leaves a junction with two adults aboard without the engine sounding distressed.

The 124cc single is smooth rather than strong. Cruising at 60 km/h it is civilised, fuel consumption is the headline — 65 kmpl claimed, with 60-plus routinely achievable — and the 11-litre tank stretches the distance between fills to a number the delivery-fleet buyers appreciate. At 112 kg it is light enough that parking it in a crowded stairwell is a one-person job.

What you do not get is any theatre. The drum-brake base variant asks for early planning at speed, the plastics are thin over the frame, and above 80 km/h the single is plainly out of capacity with a pillion. This is transport sold on arithmetic, and the arithmetic is very good.

  • 65 kmpl claimed — among the thriftiest here
  • The longest, flattest pillion seat in the 125 class
  • 112 kg kerb weight, easy to manage at a standstill

Frequently asked questions

What is the Hero Glamur 125 price?

From ₹80,000 for the drum-brake base to ₹89,000 for the DX in this unverified Delhi NCR listing — a rear disc and idle stop-start for ₹9,000 over entry.

What mileage does the Glamur 125 actually return?

The claim is 65 kmpl. MotoSutra’s estimate puts city use at 58-64 kmpl and steady 50-55 km/h highway riding at 70 kmpl or marginally better.

Should I buy the Glamur 125 or a Splendor-class 100cc?

The Glamur’s case is the extra torque for two-up duty and a bigger tank; the 100s are marginally cheaper to buy and insure. If a pillion rides more than occasionally, the 125 is the better value.
