Overview

The CB300R is Honda’s small-capacity naked, built around a 286 cc liquid-cooled four-stroke single with four valves, a six-speed gearbox and the Neo Sports Café styling Honda uses across its CB range. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India first put it on sale in February 2019 at a price reported around ₹2.41 lakh, took it out of the line-up during the BS-VI transition, and relaunched it on 12 January 2022 at ₹2,77,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). That relaunch price is what this record carries.

The engine figures are the ones Honda’s India material for this model has carried: 22.4 kW at 8,000 rpm and 27.4 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This catalogue labels its power column in bhp, so the row prints the converted 30 bhp and the kilowatt figure stands above it in the sentence rather than being quietly relabelled. The rest of the documented set is a 147 kg kerb mass, an 800 mm saddle, a 1,344 mm wheelbase, 151 mm of ground clearance, a 2,028 x 888 mm footprint with 1,053 mm of overall height, and a 10-litre tank.

The safety hardware is the part of this specification with the strongest Indian sourcing, because Honda names it on its own India feature pages for this model: two-channel ABS working with an inertial measurement unit, an emergency stop signal and hazard switching under hard braking. What is not here is a mileage figure — no source read for this build states a certified economy number for the India CB300R, so the specification table has no mileage row — and no top speed, because MotoSutra has measured neither.

The old MotoSutra CB300R page survives in the Internet Archive: “2021 Honda CB 300r Price, Specifications, Mileage, Weight, Top Speed”, published on www.motosutra.in on 27 May 2021 and captured the same day, with the last working capture on 30 May 2024. It is a specification roundup, not a road test, and its table matches this record’s almost line for line — 286.01 cc, 27.4 Nm at 6,500 rpm, 147 kg, an 800 mm saddle, a 1,344 mm wheelbase, 151 mm of ground clearance, a 2,028 x 888 x 1,053 mm body, a 10-litre tank, six speeds and IMU-assisted two-channel ABS. That agreement is not independent evidence: both sets trace to Honda material for the model. Two of its details are worth naming because this record uses them. It printed the power peak as “30.4 HP at 8000 rpm”, which is Honda’s 22.4 kW expressed as PS rather than as bhp, and that is the conversion the row above discloses. It also quoted a price of ₹2,41,000, which confirms only that this desk published the 2019 figure in May 2021 — the launch price itself still rests on the reporting cited above, not on the archive.

Two claims from that archived page are not carried here. It stated fuel economy of 28.1 kmpl in the city and 37.4 kmpl on the highway, and a top speed close to 160 km/h, both without naming where they came from. Neither appears in this record: the mileage row is absent and there is no top-speed row, because a number with no source on a page with no measurement behind it is not evidence, whatever its URL used to be. Its brake table is expressed as disc face areas — 37.6 and 30.0 square centimetres — rather than the diameters Honda publishes, so this record leaves the disc sizes to the hardware line it can attribute and does not convert them back.
